Afton Trail Race

I did my first 50k race on a steamy and rainy day in Afton State Park. I love running at Afton and there was plenty of time to do it as I got to experience the challenge of this distance (and all the vertical!). Suz was there at the finish and snapped a pic that perhaps overstates how good I felt, but I’m glad to have spent the day at the park.

Minnebar 2025: MVP (Minimal Viable Polka)

I hadn’t given a talk at Minnebar in a few years, so it was good to be back. I did a session on learning accordion which was fun and ended with a very basic performance. No one walked out! Below are some slides from the talk including a picture of me and my friends Jamie and Garrick and a video of the big finish.

Delighted today to get a comfortable run in about two inches of fresh powder. Footing under the snow was good, the trail shoes kept me moving and it felt like running on a soft carpet. Finished at Luce Line Brewing!

One of our kids rescued a lovely cat and we are temporarily housing her while the kid finds a cat-friendly apartment. So for the first time in my life I’m living with a cat.

As you can see Rosie is very pretty and the two of us are working it out.

Indy Marathon!
